On top of many mirrors in Israeli army housing and offices a sign is posted that reads: “Improve Your Appearance!” The video Improve Your Appearance! follows my transformation from my everyday self into Wander Dove. First I stand in front of a mirror, applying make up on my face, thereby transforming into a “pretty” woman. Then I put on a sweater and a helmet and become a soldier. Finally, I begin to unravel the sweater and turn my green army uniform into something new by weaving reflective string into the garment. As the light dissipates and the green army color disappears next to the glowing string, General Wander Dove emerges, and has to develop strategies to realize her mission.
